The North Lanarkshire Connection is being delivered by Bazooka Arts in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council, LEAF and NLVDA, and has been funded by The Big Lottery

The project provides opportunities for adults affected by disability and age related ill health to become connected to their community through arts participation. The project uses a creative approach to tackling isolation and poor quality of life by:

  • Delivering a programme of arts workshops, projects, performances, exhibitions and cultural visits inspired by consultation with project participants.

  • Empowering people, building confidence, encouraging creative expression and developing creative skills.

  • Connecting people to other people, as well as places, arts, dreams, potential and hope for a better quality of life.

  • Building friendships and creative communities.

  • Promoting positive mental health and well being through engagement in the arts.

  • Promoting positive images of disability in the wider community.

  • Working in partnership with local statutory and voluntary agencies and project participants.
