BAZOOKA ARTS is a community arts organisation based in Glasgow, run by visual artist & designer Bryony Murray, and dramatherapist & theatre artist Zoë Brook

We believe that arts participation has a powerful role to play in the promotion of positive mental health and wellbeing, and in developing active citizenship and well connected vibrant communities -  in essence, that creativity has the potential to act as an agent for personal, social and cultural transformation, and therefore should be readily accessible to all citizens.

This belief has informed the development of our creative participant focused practice which is based on the principles of empowerment and equality.  In operation we aim to:

  • deliver accessible and inclusive, high quality creative arts workshops, in a safe environment that encourages people to relax and have fun.

  • provide a specialised arts service that supports and responds to  the needs of marginalised groups and individuals maximising  access and participation in the creative process.

  • enhance quality of life and promote well being for participants through creative participation.

  • help facilitate the personal and social development of participants through creative engagement.

  • continually improve and develop the quality of arts experience offered to participants through reflective practice and professional development.

  • share practice with participants and agencies on a local and national level through training, partnership work and dissemination of project documentation.

  • contribute to the body of evidence that recognises the value of arts participation as essential to healthy societies through continual documentation and evaluation.

  • practice with artistic integrity and  social, political and environmental awareness and responsibility in all aspects of work
